Having gone through being overweight, losing it, getting pregnant, losing the baby weight and then having another, I am definitely aware of the stretch mark epidemic!
There are some good ways to go about preventing stretch marks in the first place:
1. moisturize
2. vitamin E oil
3. steady massaging of the skin so that the dermis stretches instead of tears.
However, I think most of us are looking for a way to get rid of these marks since you can't prevent what you already have.
Here are a few things I have come across:
1. Fractional Laser- this actually seems to work, most of the time but tends to be on the more expensive side.
2. Creams- there are many of these on the market. A main ingredient in many is water as most skin needs to be hydrated. They vary in price drastically. And like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
3. Abdominoplasty- Also more on the expensive side. Some women do a post-baby "refreshing" so to speak that includes a tummy tuck, breast augmentation and liposuction. I personally looked into it and just for the tummy tuck it could be anywhere from $3000-$8000~ a little out of my price range.
If you want to try some things that I have seen work, check out my website where I sell a few products that will help with not only stretch marks, but loose skin and those last few pounds you may want to get rid of. Below are a few before and after photos.
